Studentships

We will be issuing several studentship awards to offset some of the costs of attendance. If you wish to be considered for a studentship award please submit a personal statement with your application explaining what you hope to achieve from the course. Please have your advisor or mentor e-mail a letter of recommendation to info@acasummercourse.net shortly after submitting your application.  You must be enrolled in a Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. level program at the time of the course (June 2024) in order to be eligible for a studentship award. For international attendees, the maximum award level is limited to costs of housing and registration (out of legal reasons, we cannot reimburse international travel expenses).

Craven Award:

Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Diffraction Society, this award supports the travel of a foreign student to the United States to participate in the ACA Summer Course up to a level of $1,500, depending on travel costs and needs. Strong preference will be given to students from New Zealand or Australia. More information and application instructions can be found on the web page of the Pittsburgh Diffraction Society at the http://www.pittdifsoc.org/Craven_Scholarship.htm

Housing Costs

The cost of housing will be around $280/week for dormitory style accommodations (double occupancy)

Waiting List

Once the course reaches capacity a waiting list will be established and we will ask if you would like to be added to the waiting list. In case an opening becomes available we will select people off the list.
