ACA Summer Course

We do now accept applications for the 2024 ACA Summer Course in Chemical Crystallography.

International attendees requiring a visa to enter the United States: There had been increasingly long processing periods in recent years to obtain B1 visa. If you are planning to apply for the Course, please contact us as soon as possible.

We expect that all participants will need to provide proof of vaccination and attendees will have to agree to adhere to Purdue’s COVID-19 rules and protocols (details will be posted as we are moving closer to the Course dates).

Pending no unforeseen circumstances, the course will be held at Purdue University from June 12th through June 19th. The 2022 Course will be an in-person event.  We expect that all participants will need to provide proof of vaccination and attendees will have to agree to adhere to Purdue’s COVID-19 rules and protocols (details will be posted as we are moving closer to the Course dates). We regret that we have to announce that this year’s ACA Summer Course will be canceled due to the continuing global pandemic.

Recent estimates indicate that vaccinations for the general public in the US will not begin until late Spring or early Summer. Full vaccination of a majority of the adult population will be taking even longer. This makes it unlikely that an in-person event, especially with many hands-on activities and personal interactions such as the ACA Summer Course is known for, will be possible this year. Considering the time that is required to plan an event such as the ACA Summer Course we regret that we have to cancel this year’s Course.

We know that many of you looked very much forward to the Course, and we understand your disappointment. We, the organizers of the Course and the teaching faculty, feel the same. Most of us have been very strongly committed to the course for years or even decades, and the Course is one of the highlights of the year for all of us. If your schedule allows, and if crystallography remains an important part of your future plans, we would love to see you at the 2022 Course instead. Registration will tentatively open on January 1^st, 2022.
